Sorry i can't add much to your project here, but i just wanted to mention that i am also working on a project to make my HPW MAS2-IBIS2 work with omsi,My ibis is the type that is featured in the original Berlin MAN buses that were in omsi, and the Fahrerarbeitsplatz (drivers work place, or cab) i'm building is based on a MAN NG272.
serial do omsi 2 31
I am working on the LCD part of the project at the moment.i'm not sure if you are using Komsi too? What i am doing is trying to make Komsi do a few things it wasn't supposed to do, like instead of make the IBIS LCD text up from the 10 bits of data in the string of text that's sent over the serial port, i change a 'stringvarlist' in the komsi .opl file, and have the whole IBIS display's text sent over the serial port, with the upper and lower lines of text separated by the @ symbol. This gives the 'falsche route / zeil' flashing on the LCD the same as in the simulator.
My IBIS will just be a LCD and buttons that connect to the computer, and omsi handles the different button functions, but i still want some extra buttons in my arduino sketch, like holding the 'unfall' button for say 3 seconds will activate the 'call out the police' when you have a crash in the bus, and then i want to be able to use the IBIS's Löschen and Eingabe buttons work for 'yes' and 'no' to the pop up box that omsi shows asking if you really want to call the police out or not.
Here is the face of my replica IBIS, it's just the texture from omsi re-sized, printed and laminated, and a 24 x 2 character LCD stuck to the back of it. but in that picture it was displaying the same text as was on the omsi IBIS, but my sketch used Strings, and they are best avoided if possible, hence i am re-writing my sketch, and also getting around the issue that komsi does not send a terminator character on the IBIS com port output..
Anyway, sorry to go off topic on your thread, but it's nice to see someone else who loves omsi as much as i do, unfortunately i'm better at the hardware side than the programming, so i'm learning it as i go too. 2ff7e9595c
